STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — North Mississippi Boy Scouts are raising money at a special dinner Monday night.

It’s part of an annual fundraiser for the Pushmataha Area Council with the Boy Scouts of America.

U.S. Senator Thad Cochran was the keynote speaker for the fundraiser dinner called “On My Honor Dinner for Scouting.”

The scouts also recognized eight veterans for their service to our country.

“We feel the leadership, service and honor that is represented by our veterans is also represented by the scouting program itself,” said Jeremy Whitmore, scout executive of the Pushmataha Area Council.

Last year, the PAC served more than 1,300 youth and 400 adult volunteer leaders across 10 area counties.
