Break-in Believed to be the Work of Professionals

WATER VALLEY, Miss. (WCBI)-An early morning burglary of a pharmacy appears to be the work of professionals. Early yesterday morning Turnage Drug Store in Water Valley was broken into and an undetermined amount of narcotics were taken. This is the second burglary of the Turnage Drug Store this year. 53 pharmacy burglaries have been reported in the northern part of the state since the first of this year including: Pontotoc, Oxford, and Calhoun County. Captain Roger Thomas of the Water Valley Police Department believes the burglary was done by a burglary ring that has been operating in this state. The burglary was discovered by Binnie Turnage who says he found both the front and back door broken out and the phone lines cut. Captain Thomas says at this time they do not suspect anyone local.
