Budget Cuts, Taxes, and Gambling Likely to be on Special Session Agenda

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WCBI) – An Alabama lawmaker says he will introduce lottery and casino legislation this special session.  Senate President Pro Tem Del Marsh says he plans to introduce the bill next week.

He believes residents are ready to vote on the matter. Legislators returned to the capitol today to begin the session but have 30 days to take action the state’s general fund budget.

Alabama Governor Robert Bentley wants $310 million in revenue, most through new taxes and not gambling.
