COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — If you heard the sound of jets Thursday afternoon, your ears weren’t playing tricks on you.
Several planes from Columbus Air Force Base took to the skies in formation for a special photo-op.
WCBI cameras caught the jets flying over downtown Columbus. They also went over the base, and Stennis Lock and Dam.
Instructor pilots from the base flew their training planes – the T-1A, T-38C, and T-6A – plus an A-29 from the geographically separated unit at Moody Air Force Base in Georgia.
The flight lasted about an hour.
