Video: Caldwell Graduate Appointed to State Court

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – Governor Phil Bryant appoints his second state Supreme Court Justice in less than a week.

Tenth District Chancery Court Judge Dawn Beam has been tapped to fill the seat of Justice Randy Pierce, who is stepping down at the end of January to take over the Judicial College at the University of Mississippi School of Law.

Judge Beam has been serving the Tenth Judicial District since 20-10. She has also worked as a prosecutor, and in private practice, and as a Child Support Attorney with the Department of Human Services.

Beam holds Bachelors and Law degrees from Ole Miss. She is also a graduate of the former Caldwell High School in Columbus.

She will be sworn in February 15th, and will serve until a special election can be held in November.
