Calhoun County Supervisors Distribute Fire Rebate Money

CALHOUN, Miss. (Calhoun County Journal) — Calhoun County supervisors distributed fire rebate money and agreed to have a water line moved for a bridge project during a brief meeting Friday morning.

County Fire Coordinator Chris Williams requested the fire rebate money be distributed among all county fire departments. The board agreed to disperse the approximate $4,800.
Williams noted that the law requires it to be spent on equipment needs, not buildings or maintenance.

The only other board action in the meeting came in a report from Engineer Chodie Myers. He said on the CR 167 bridge project, a two inch water line belonging to Mt. Comfort Water Association was found. The board authorized for the line to be moved so the project could continue.

The board is scheduled to meet again Monday morning.
