CALHOUN, CO. – (WCBI) Calhoun County economic leader receives sound advice from a former state senator.

Bill Renick also served as the mayor of Ashland before entering state politics. He was the former Chief of Staff to Governor Ronny Musgrove, before throwing his name into the race for Governor.

Renick was also Thursday night’s keynote speaker at the annual banquet of the Calhoun County Economic Development agency.

“Sometimes it actually takes a person from the outside looking in instead of from the inside looking out to really get a grasp on the really good things of places like Calhoun County,” says Renick.

“We have a couple of purpose projects one of them I can not officially announce yet but we are very excited about that and then we have two more that I am working on have not quite completed the development on those right now,” says Sheila Freely, Director of Calhoun ECD.

Renick now works as a director with the Three Rivers Planning and Development District, which serves 27 counties in North Mississippi.
