Video: Candidate Drops Out Of Noxubee Sheriff’s Race

MACON, Miss. (WCBI) – Former Macon Police Chief Petey Freshour has withdrawn from the Noxubee County sheriff’s race.

Noxubee County Circuit Clerk Freda Phillips says Freshour gave a letter to her office asking to be removed from the ballot.

He had qualified as an independent.

Freshour has 33 years of law enforcement experience, including 25 years in Macon.

Sheriff Terry Grasseree, former state trooper Earnest Eichelberger, and Macon officer Douglass Triplett will face off in the August 4th Democratic primary.
