Car Crash Claims Life of Winston Co. Woman

WINSTON CO., Miss. (WCBI) — A Winston County woman dies from injuries she received in a one car crash Monday morning.

34-year old Stefanie Moody Burchfield died Tuesday afternoon after receiving treatment at University Medical Center in Jackson.

According to Criss Turnipseed with the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Burchfield, an X-ray technician at Baptist Memorial Golden Triangle, was traveling northbound on Highway 25 just south of Morgan Town Rd. in Winston County around 6:20 a.m Monday.

She apparently left the road way and collided into a concrete culvert. Officials believe she may have been knocked out or fallen asleep behind the wheel. She was not wearing a seat belt.

Burchfield leaves behind her husband, a six month old son, and a 17-year old son.
