Video: Car Crashes Into A Monroe County Church

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Monroe County church catches fire after a car hits the building.

It happened at Prairie United Methodist Church on Highway 382 on Wednesday night.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol says Robert Raines Jr., 19, of Okolona told troopers he swerved to miss a dog that ran in front of him.

Passenger, Tracy Baskins, 19, also of Okolona, was taken to a Columbus hospital with moderate injuries.

No charges are expected to be filed.

The crash remains under investigation.
