Cash Awards For Okolona School Students

Okolona, Miss. (WCBI) — Students in the Okolona School District are being rewarded for their academic excellence during award ceremonies at Okolona Elementary and High School Monday.

The “Champions of Change,” are receiving cash awards for scoring high on last year’s MCT2 Tests. Okolona was faltering academically, but school officials say never again, as they only “C” future successes.

“Cause I worked really hard and I was trying to beat Jordan because he was always better than anybody else cause he got good grades. So that’s why it was important to me,” said Lillian Gandy, Okolona Elementary School.

The cash prizes were provided by the school district Superintendent, school board members, and Okolona Community Dollars For Scholars.
