CFD Donates Book To Elementary School

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — West Lowndes Elementary now has a new book on its shelves, thanks to the Columbus Fire Department.

Anthony Colom with the CFD, made a stop at West Lowndes Elementary and donated a copy of the fire department’s new book.

The book is titled “Columbus Fire and Rescue” and features a brief history of the department and also several pictures of the firemen in action.

Minnie Williams, the school librarian says she is thankful for the donation.

“If they are interested in becoming firefighters then they’ve got some resources. This is wonderful and I do thank them very much for their gift,” said Williams.

The photos throughout the book were taken by the Columbus Fire Department’s Anthony Colom.

He is donating a copy of the book to the city schools as well as the county.
