Chancery Judge To Be Fined, Suspended

JACKSON, MS (WCBI)  Chancery Court Judge Talmadge Littlejohn will have to serve a suspension and pay a fine.  The State Supreme Court today declined to revisit its decision to suspend Littlejohn for thirty days and fine him $1,000.  The First Chancery District judge faces the penalties because of the way he handled a custody case.  In that case Littlejohn ordered a child’s father to buy the child a car within 90 days. The father appealed the case and did not follow through with the purchase because the appeal had not been heard.  Despite the fact the case was on appeal, Littlejohn ordered the father jailed for not buying the car within the three month time frame.  The suspension will take effect later this month.
