Child Killed by Car Has Lowndes Ties

CALEDONIA, Miss. (WCBI) — Biloxi police say an accident that killed an 8 year old boy with Lowndes County ties Tuesday was a tragic accident and criminal charges likely won’t be filed.

Blake Lee Terrell died from blunt force trauma. Terrell was crossing Highway 90 with his family when he was struck by a passing truck driven by 18-year-old Tony Barrett of Biloxi.

Terrell was leaving the “Cruisin’ the Coast” vintage car show when the accident occurred.

Blake is the son of Shaun and Michelle Terrell, Caledonia natives, who now live in Biloxi. His grandparents are Wanda and Ray Baldwin of Caledonia, Frank and Teresa Terrell of Ethelsville, Al., and Halon McCool and Caroline Swimms of Steens.

Lowndes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation is Friday night at the funeral home and the funeral is 10 a.m. Saturday.
