Children’s fishing rodeo attracts more than 650 in Tupelo

TUPELO, MIss. (WCBI) — The fish were biting Saturday morning at Tupelo’s Veterans Park.

And there was a good crowd for the seventh annual Tupelo children’s fishing rodeo. Sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department, 15-hundred fish were brought in and the lake was off limits so they would be ready for the bait.

650 registered for the event which is designed to expose children to fishing so they will become fisherman for a lifetime. And many of the children were hauling them in.
