COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Columbus High School’s Principal will soon leave for a job at East Mississippi Community College.

The school district says Jill Savely will become EMCC’s Educator in Residence for the Early College High School program. Savely’s last day will be tomorrow.

She has served the district for 12 years as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. Columbus Schools Superintendent, Dr. Philip Hickman, says an interim principal will soon be named.

A search committee will be formed and public meetings held to find Savely’s permanent replacement.
