Church Hosts “Parenting Today” Workshop

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – It was a time of learning and encouragement for some local parents in the community.
Turner Chapel in Columbus hosted a “Parenting Today” workshop.

The workshop was designed to teach positive parenting tools for raising kids in today’s society.

The keynote speaker was Minister Cynthia Gates, who encouraged parents to teach their kids implementing Biblical principals.

“We’ve gotten away from the basic Biblical principals that the Bible teaches, which is to train our children in the way they should go. They will make mistakes, they’re going to do some things but if we just lay that basic foundation, I think we will see some of the things that we’re seeing today now start to get better,” said Minister Gates.

This was the first parenting workshop but the church plans to host several more in the future.
