City Wide Unity Picnic

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — The ninth annual Mayor’s Unity Picnic took place on Saturday afternoon at the Columbus Riverwalk in downtown Columbus.

Saturday’s event included live entertainment, food and inflatable bounce houses.

The event was also designed to allow citizens of Columbus to see and visit one another.

One Columbus Resident has been to all nine of the annual Mayor’s Unity Picnic’s and she says it’s exciting to see everyone getting together.

“Just getting everybody together and watching how they just enjoy the band, the kids running and just have a festive time. That’s so enlightening to me,” Tietti Chantler said.

The Recreation Authority, Columbus Convention and Visitors’ Bureau along with Mayor Robert Smith were Sponsors of Today’s event.
