Clay Co. Pastors Share Easter Message

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) — Several Clay County pastors are sharing a special Easter message.

On Friday, seven of them gave sermons with their perspective on the last things Jesus said on the cross before he died.

It’s part of the “Last Seven Sayings of Christ” event, held at Mt. Hermon M.B. Church in West Point.

Participants say they want to share the true meaning of Easter.

“It tells us what it meant for Christ to die for us,” said Rev. Robert Shamblin-Traylor, Pilgrim Grove and Siloam M.B. Churches. “It shares and tells us exactly what the season is all about. We think Easter’s about eggs and dressing up, but Easter is about what Jesus has done for us.”

Mt. Hermon has been putting on this event for more than 20 years.
