CLAY COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- The cost of justice is more expansive than you think.

For a three-day murder trial last month, Clay County is paying almost $7,000 to move the trial to Union County.

Court officials in both counties say it would have cost far more if the jury had been put up in hotels at night.

The jury deliberated just 20 minutes before finding Tavaris Collins guilty of murder in the death of 16-year-old Devin Mitchell in West Point on New Year’s morning in 2012.
