Clay County Woman Sentenced For Stealing From PTA

CLAY COUNTY, Miss. – (WCBI) The woman who left the Church Hill School P-T-A penniless is sentenced to probation and must repay the remainder of the more than $33,000 she stole.

During a hearing in Clay County Circuit Court this week, Jennifer Hamby was sentenced to 10 years for forgery, false pretense and I-D fraud.

The jail time was suspended and she was placed on five years probation. She must repay more than $16,000 to the West Point school’s P-T-A.

Her father already has repaid more than half the $33,000 she took from the West Point school’s P-T-A while she was treasurer. The thefts left the group more than $19,000 in debt.
