CLAY COUNTY, Miss. — At approximately midnight on February 7, 2014, Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy Everett Quinn sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident on Siloam-Griffin Road in western Clay County.

Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott stated the patrol car struck a cow on the road, spinning his patrol car out of control into a utility pole. Scott said the impact caused the gas tank to rupture, completely burning the car.

Scott stated Deputy Quinn was wearing his seat belt and airbags did deploy which investigators felt prevented serious injury to Quinn.

He was transported by ambulance to North Mississippi Medical Center-Clay County where he was treated and released.
