Former Itawamba Community College President Dr. David C. Cole will serve as the College’s interim vice president of Economic and Community Services, beginning May 3, according to an announcement today by President Mike Eaton.

Cole will fill the position currently held by James Williams, who will leave ICC at the end of April to become the executive director of the State Workforce Investment Board in Jackson.

“Because of the approaching end of the fiscal year, we are challenged with grants ending, grants beginning, personnel recommendations and budgeting,” Eaton said. “I appreciate, and I am extremely grateful to Dr. Cole’s assisting the College during this transition time. He has extensive knowledge and institutional memory for this area of the College and will provide excellent leadership to continue to move us forward.”

Cole, who served as ICC’s fourth president, retired on June 30, 2013. He served as interim president of Holmes Community College last summer.
