TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – They help people achieve their academic goals after high school and today hundreds were in our region to help them serve students better.

The statewide College Advisors Conference was held at the Belden campus of Itawamba Community College. More than 100 advisors from community colleges and senior colleges statewide attended.

Organizers say it is a chance to exchange and gain valuable information that will help students.

“What this allows them to do is make connections with other colleges and have a place where they can go to get more information and take it back to their own colleges and also, knowledge is power and any knowledge you can gain to help students is great, says Director of Advising, Mande Miller.

This is the first year ICC has hosted the annual event.
