Columbus Business Center Hosts Open House

Columbus, Mississippi (WCBI) – The Columbus Business Center continues to move forward with its multi-tenant center.

OMNOVA and CBC officials held an open house Thursday to showcase OMNOVA’s brand new office center.

So far, OMNOVA remains the only tenant of the more than 700,000-square-foot facility, and is currently renting approximately 200,000 square feet.

OMNOVA’s new 7,500-square-foot office center houses 20-25 faculty and administrative staff, and is centrally located in the company shipping and receiving center.

OMNOVA Solutions Engineered Surfaces President David Maynard said the new center wills streamline handling practices.

“Just having all of our employees centrally located now in the building will just improve our ability to work together and service our customers better,” said Engineered Surfaces President David Maynard.

“We’ve had a good amount of interest in space. We’ve got three or four companies looking at bigger space, and we’ve got three or four looking at smaller areas,” said Columbus Business Center Property Manager Burdette Wilber.

Wilber said the new office center was constructed in about three months without difficulty.

The Columbus Business Center is looking at about another year and a half before the property is fully renovated to meet tenant needs.
