Columbus Businessman To Head MUW Foundation Board

PRESS RELEASE

COLUMBUS, Miss. – Local businessman Ralph McLain of Columbus has been elected chairman of the MUW Foundation Board. McLain’s term began in July.

 

A registered professional engineer, McLain is a partner at Teletec Communications, a company that provides point-to-point microwave data links, rural internet and two-way radio systems for commercial, industrial and public safety use. Formerly he was founder and president of Air Control Engineering, Inc.

 

Active in the community, McLain serves as a board member of the Golden Triangle Planning and Development District, the Pushmataha Council of Boy Scouts of America and the Golden Triangle Solid Waste Management Authority. He has served as chairman of the Columbus and Lowndes Economic Development Association and Columbus-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce.

 

McLain is a graduate of East Central Community College and Mississippi State University where he received a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering.

 

Originally from Neshoba County, McLain and his wife, Judy, have two daughters and four grandchildren and live in Columbus.

I look forward to working with the Foundation chair, Ralph McLain, and the Foundation Board of Directors in the coming year in their efforts to advance the university.”

 

Under the leadership of its independent Board of Directors, the MUW Foundation receives gifts on behalf of the University, solicits donations, manages assets and distributes monies in accordance with prescribed procedures.  The Foundation exists solely for the educational support of MUW but operates independently from the University, the Board of Trustees and the State of Mississippi. The Foundation Board includes alumni and business and community leaders who are committed to furthering the mission of The W.
