Video: UPDATE: Columbus Car Accident Caused By Drunk Driver

UPDATED: Columbus, Miss. (WCBI) — A two car accident happened shortly after 7 P.M. Thursday night at the intersection of Highway 69 and Yorkville Road.

Columbus police say the accident was caused by 31 year old Jeremy Hudson, who was driving drunk.

Hudson is formally charged with driving without insurance, driving with a suspended license due to a prior D.U.I.-caused accident, and a D.U.I. in tonight’s incident.

Five people were sent to the hospital, including Hudson.

Rescue crews had to use the Jaws of Life to pull passengers out of the cars.

No injuries were considered life threatening and all are expected to be released from the hospital Thursday night.
