Columbus Farmer’s Market Host Seed Spitting Contest
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)-Some local children tested their seed spitting talents Saturday morning.
It was the watermelon seed spitting contest at the Columbus farmers market. Participants had to compete in two series of competitions. They tested their aim by spitting as many seeds into a cup and then tested how far they could spit their seed. Last year’s champion held his title for the second year in a row. He says there’s an art to spitting seeds.
“You had to spit really hard and put it on your tongue and go like this,” says Tucker Gilmer.
There were first and second place winners who took home a prize as well.
