Video: Columbus Firefighter Honored By Exchange Club

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A Columbus firefighter gets a big honor from a local civic organization.

The Columbus Exchange Club awarded Captain Tommy Massey the “Firefighter of the Year” award Thursday.

Massey, along with fellow firemen, is credited with saving a family from their burning apartment last year.

He says it is an honor to be recognized, but it was a team effort.

Massey and seven other firefighters were honored at the state capitol earlier this year for that heroic rescue at Jamestown Apartments.
