Columbus Home Destroyed in Early Morning Fire

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A Columbus home was destroyed in a blaze Monday morning.

The home located on 8th Avenue North and 14th Street was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived at about 9 a.m. Columbus street department workers were patching potholes nearby when they spotted the fire and smoke.

The house was unoccupied and being used by the owner for storage.

Investigators don’t yet know a cause.
