Columbus Man Charged with Armed Robbery

COLUMBUS, Miss. – (WCBI) A Columbus man is in jail after police say he took money from two stores in one night. 36 year-old Marshal Porter is charged with armed robbery.

Police say Porter matches the description of the man who grabbed money from a cash register at Riverhill Chevron just before ten last night. Just a few hours later, a man told the clerk at the Sprint Mart on Highway 69 he had a gun and demanded money.

Police say Porter was identified in that robbery. He was arrested this afternoon at his house in Columbus.
