Columbus Man Pleads Guilty to Armed Robbery

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A Columbus man set to go on trial Monday (11/25) to face armed robbery charges, pleads guilty.

27 year-old Antonio Burgin entered the plea in Lowndes County Circuit Court.

Burgin and 22 year old Quinton Erby were charged with armed robbery of the “A and A Deli Food Mart” on McCrary Road in 2010.

Store owner Hussein Alhajjiji was shot during the robbery. he returned fire, hitting Burgin. 

Erby and Burgin were caught shortly after when their car broke down.

Burgin will serve 23  years and 5 years post release.

He will also pay the maxium fine and vicitm restitution.

The aggravated assault charge was retired with his plea to armed robbery.
