Video: Columbus Police and Local Volunteers Help Santa

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)-Not all of Santa’s Elves work at the North Pole. Some of them patrol the streets of Columbus. Columbus Police have been collecting money and toys for kids in need this holiday season. Today they got some hands on helpf rom the community. volunteers helped the officers assemble bikes and wrap toys. every year the department takes applications and collects toys for children ages one through twelve.

There is still time to get involved. The Police Department will be collecting donations and toys until December 22nd. They will distribute the toys on December 23rd. This year they are expecting to serve 300 families this year.

To make donations of money or toys contact Rhonda Sanders at the Columbus Police Department. The presents will be distributed at East Columbus Gym, Sandfield Community Center, Sims Scott Park, and Townsend Community Center on December 23rd beginning at 8AM.
