Columbus Police Hold Wreath Laying Ceremony

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Columbus police are honoring their fellow law enforcement officers.

They held a wreath laying ceremony Friday morning as part of National Police Week, which runs through Saturday.

Columbus police officers laid two ceremonial wreaths – one representing the military, and the other for law enforcement.

They also read the names of 44 officers from across the country killed in the line of duty last year.

The ceremony was held at the department’s police memorial.
