Video: Columbus Police Make Arrest In Birthday Party Shooting

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A Columbus man is arrested for a shooting outside a birthday party.

Devin Thompson, 25, is charged with aggravated assault.

Gunfire erupted in the parking lot at the Townsend Community Center on Sunday night.

One person was injured and taken to the hospital in a private vehicle with non life-threatening injuries.

No one inside the center was injured.

Three vehicles were hit in the parking lot.

Columbus police are still trying to determine why the men were arguing and what led to the shooting.

Thompson is expected to make a court appearance on Monday.
