Columbus Police Make Arrest In Drive By Shootings

COLUMBUS, MS (WCBI) -Columbus police make one arrest in two drive by shootings that happened earlier this week.

Quaylin Curtis Smith, 23, is charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by a felon.

Interim Police Chief Fred Shelton says Smith is accused of shooting into a home on Maple Street about 8 o’clock Monday night.

Later on, investigators believe he is also behind a drive by on Woolbright Street in east Columbus.

No one was injured but two homes were damaged.

Smith was arrested about 4 P.M. on Friday. He remains in the Lowndes County jail.
