COLUMBUS, Miss. — Rite Aid is proud to announce the two winners of the 2014 Favorite Pharmacy Team Member contest are a pharmacy technician from Columbus, Miss., and a loyal customer of the company’s store in Johnstown, N.Y. Both were selected at random from more than 7,000 unique entries in the 11th annual contest recognizing Rite Aid pharmacy associates for their commitment to providing excellent customer service. To enter, customers submitted mail-in nominations, uploaded personal video entries and online ballots during American Pharmacists Month in October. The names of one customer and one pharmacy team member were each randomly drawn to receive $2,500 in Rite Aid gift cards. Every nominated “favorite” pharmacy team member receives an official pin and letter of commendation from John Standley, Rite Aid chairman and CEO, and Robert Thompson, Rite Aid executive vice president of pharmacy. “We are proud of the quality care and service our Rite Aid pharmacy teams provide to our customers every day,” said Robert Thompson, Rite Aid executive vice president of pharmacy. “The amount of entries we receive each year truly shows the appreciation our customers have for our pharmacy teams and I’d like to thank our associates for continuing to help Rite Aid fulfill its mission of helping our customers live healthier lives.” Tammie Sherrod, Rite Aid’s winning Pharmacy Team Member, has been a pharmacy technician for more than 15 years at the store in Columbus, Miss. Sherrod was nominated for always working with a smile and providing excellent customer care, such as keeping patients informed on their medications. “I was very excited to hear Tammie had won this contest as she truly deserves this recognition for all her hard work with Rite Aid over the years,” said Jeff Church, Rite Aid pharmacy district manager. “Tammie always displays a positive attitude towards customers and coworkers and works with a high degree of honesty and integrity.”
