Columbus Superintendent Finalists to Meet Public

COLUMBUS, Miss. — The Columbus Municipal School Board has successfully completed the initial round of interviews of candidates for the position of School Superintendent. Finalists for the position will be introduced to the public on July 1 at 6:00 pm in the auditorium at Cook Elementary School.

The board interviewed eight candidates Wednesday, Thursday and Monday before cutting that group down. Almost 60 people from 24 states originally applied for the position.

Board President Angela Verdell stated, “The Board is excited about the process that we are undertaking and is committed to ensuring that we select a candidate well suited to meet the needs of our students and this District. Please join us on July 1st as we introduce the finalists to the Columbus community. We appreciate the public’s support and patience throughout this process.”
