COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The search criteria for a new superintendent got a little clearer Tuesday.

The Columbus Municipal School District met with search consultants Ray and Associates to begin the search for its next superintendent. The board will finalize a job description and skill set after a series of meetings with parents, students, staff, community leaders and the public May 12th and 13th. Once a profile is complete, the consultants will begin a nationwide search for the job, which will pay 175 thousand dollars a year.

Long-time educator Edna McGill has been serving as interim superintendent since Martha Liddell was forced out last summer.
