COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A local veterans office receives a generous donation from a family who lost their son in Iraq. A Humana associate living in Louisville, Kentucky lost her son, Sgt. Keith Hughes, during the Iraq War. When she heard about the budget issues at the Veterans office in Lowndes County, she decided to donate a laptop in honor of her son. Humana Regional Executive Ben Baker says, “We’re trying to do this for Keith Hughes and for his parents to honor him and to help our area veterans. They’ve done so much for us. If we could give back anything to them, it’s a great reward to us. We really appreciate the opportunity.” The donated laptop will be in the waiting room so vets can go online to use the V.A.’s benefit program.
