Condition Of Woman Hit By SUV Improving

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Caledonia woman is in fair condition in a Jackson hospital after being hit by an SUV.

State troopers say Brittany Edwards, 23, walking down Highway 50 in the eastbound lane early Sunday morning.

A Ford Expedition driven by Cynthia Lynch, 54, of Columbus hit Edwards, then crossed by off the highway and landed in a ditch at the Gunshoot Road intersection.

Charges are pending in the investigation.

Lynch was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
