Congressman Nunnelee Released From Hospital

Washington, D.C. (Press Release) — This afternoon, Congressman Alan Nunnelee (R-Miss) released the following statement:

“I first want to say that my family and I greatly appreciate all of your kind prayers, thoughts, and well-wishes. We are also truly grateful for the care and advice that the medical staff from the House of Representatives and George Washington University provided.

“I am happy and thankful to report that I was released from the hospital this afternoon. I will remain in DC over the weekend for some additional outpatient tests. I hope to come back to Mississippi early next week to resume my district work week schedule and assist the people of Mississippi in their recovery efforts from the recent tornadoes.

“As your elected representative, I feel it is my responsibility to keep you apprised of my medical situation. My doctors have determined that the cause of my discomfort earlier in the week is a small intracranial mass. It appears to be an isolated problem that can be remedied through surgery. I plan to work with my doctors and consider the House calendar to determine the best time to have this done.”

Congressman Alan Nunnelee represents Mississippi’s First Congressional District. He serves on the House Appropriations Committee and the House Budget Committee. This is his second term.
