CORINTH, Miss. (AP) — A Louisiana construction worker has been charged with three counts of grand larceny in the theft of materials and tools from a job site at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth.

Police Detective Capt. Ralph Dance tells the Daily Corinthian that 23-year-old Steven Barton of Shreveport, La., was arrested Friday.

Dance says the tools, a computer and other construction materials, including copper wire, were found in Barton’s motel room.

Dance says Barton worked for one of two contractors involved in the ongoing construction at hospital.

Dance says Barton was being held without bond at the local jail pending an initial court appearance.
