Convicted Murderer Looking for Appeal

NOXUBEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) –  A Noxubee County man is appealing his murder conviction in a fatal shooting in 2009.

Dareous “Rico” Bryant is appealing his 2012 murder conviction arguing the prosecution failed to produce any physical evidence linking him to the crime. Bryant also says, testimony by witnesses on the number of shots fired was different from witness to witness. The case is set to be considered by the Appeals Court during its May-June term. In 2012 Bryant was sentenced to life in prison for the fatal shooting of 22 year old LeMarco Tate outside the Beehive Cafe in May of 2009.

Tate was shot in the chest and later died at Noxubee General Hospital.
