Video: Corinth Alderman To Discuss Referendum Of Liquor Sales

CORINTH, Miss. (WCBI)-Corinth alderman will discuss setting up a special election for a city-wide referendum on the sale of liquor. The issue will be broached Tuesday (11-6) night during the regular scheduled meeting. Supporters of a vote on the liquor issue have been gathering signatures since September and have acquired enough for a vote. Alcorn County was a wet county for 21 years until 1989 when the voters ended the liquor sales but said yes to the sale of beer. Previous attempts at liquor elections in 1993 and 2005 have failed in the past.
