Cotton Mill Project Falls Behind

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The building of a multi million dollar development near the Mississippi State University campus has fallen behind.

The 2009 contract with Mark Nicholas of Nicholas Properties to develop the Cotton Mill project has expired.

A new contract is in the works with Castle Properties Inc. but has yet to be approved.

The university would like to turn the historic Cooley building which used to be a cotton mill in 1902 into the new conference center. There looking to add retail stores, restaurants and a hotel as part of the plans.
