Video: Crappie Tournament in Fulton

FULTON, Miss. (WCBI) – Enthusiast from across the nation hit the Tenn-Tom Waterway Saturday in pursuit of point and prizes.

The Crappie Tournament had a great turn out with 10 teams from out of state. It’s the first time the tournament has come to the Fulton area and locals were excited to be a part of it.

“This is the first year here, it’s kind of a test for this particular market. There’s some awfully good fishing here we know and some big fish here. So we’re hoping that this year they’ll bring in a lot of big fish and next year this thing will double,” said tournament director Larry Stephens.

First place semi pro winners went to a teams out of Georgia, Roy Cape and Robert Harris with 7 fish in total weighing 10.31 pounds. And for the amateur division both from Mississippi Chas Goff and Jaime Dunaway with their fish weighing in at 8.81 pounds total. The biggest fish today weighed 2.37 pounds.
