Derma Special Election Set

DERMA, Miss. – Voters in Derma could head back to the polls next month.

City leaders have set a special election for Tuesday, January 8th, to fill Richard Blaylock’s seat on the Board of Aldermen.

Blaylock passed away recently.

He’d served on the Board for 23 years.

The qualifying deadline for the special election is December 18.

There is no fee to qualify, but you will need the signatures of 50 voters.

If nobody runs, the Board can appoint Blaylock’s successor, and if only one person qualifies, there will be no need for the special election.
