ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) — A dispute between two Aberdeen city officials is headed to court.

Earlier this month, Codes Director David Low signed Justice Court affidavits against Police Chief Henry Randle for allegedly interfering with a building inspection.

Today, Circuit Court Judge Tommy Gardner, ruled during a probable cause hearing in Lee County, said the case could go forward in Monroe County Justice Court. Probable cause hearings are required for charges involving teachers and public officials. Gardner heard the case because his district also includes Monroe County.

Low claims he was inspecting the old skating rink in Aberdeen after residents complained about noise from parties when it is rented out. Low says Randle was there talking to building owner Ambrose Gardner and threatened Low.

Randle denies the claims and says he never threatened anyone.

TCity officials tell WCBI the former owner of the Social Lounge at the Best Western hotel has been trying to move her beer license to the rink and reopen it as the Social Lounge. She has a state beer license but has not received approal from the city to reopen the business or move the license.

Residents complain about loud noise coming from car steroes at the building when it is rented for parties.
