DOT Extends Deadline For Airport Bids

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – The U.S. Department of Transportation extends the deadline for air carriers to submit bids to provide service in Tupelo.

The Tupelo Airport Authority says a company that submitted a bid has asked for the extension, and it was granted by DOT.

Seaport Airlines terminated its service on October 23rd.

Airport Authority members voted to terminate Seaport’s contract because of performance issues.

The original agreement would have required the company to continue service through much of December.

No timeline has been set on when a new carrier will be selected.
